Galah Asin



Galah Asin or in other areas or Galasin called Gobak Sodor is a kind of Indonesian regional game. This game is a game group consisting of two groups, where each team consists in 3 - 5 people. The core game is not to block your opponent can escape through the line to the last line of back and forth, and to win all group members should complete the process back and forth in a field area that has been determined.

The game is usually played on the badminton court with reference lines that exist or may be using a rectangular field of size 9 x 4 m which is divided into 6 sections. Boundary line of each section is usually is marked with chalk. Members of the group's turn to keep this field is divided into two, namely that group members maintain the horizontal lines and vertical lines. For group members who have the duty to maintain the horizontal line, then they will try to prevent their opponents who are also trying to pass the line which has been determined as a free boundary. For group members who have the duty to maintain the vertical line (usually only one person), then this person has access to the entire vertical line is located in the middle of the field. This game is very exciting and very difficult because each person must always be on guard and ran as fast as possible if necessary to achieve victory.

How to Play:
  • Play Hom Pim Pah to choose the team leader.
  • Team A players stand along each of the lines to stop Team B players running over the first line to the last line and back.
  • Members of Team A have to run along their own line, except the leader who can move along all the lines.
  • Team B stand behind the first line.
  • To start the game the two leaders touch hands.
  • If a Team B player returns to the start without being touched, Team B gets one point.
  • If any member of Team B is touched the round is over. It is the other team’s turn.
  • Continue the game as before.
  • The team with the most points wins.
